Moderco & its associates, distributors and suppliers are committed in every way to do all that is possible, feasible and practical to help preserve, restore and replenish our environment. As an International company headquartered in Canada, a country blessed with natural beauty and resources, we are very much aware of the fragility of the eco-system and have been for years. Therefore each and every day we continue to develop & implement plans and procedures that will benefit all of us. Some specific examples are as follows:

The use wherever possible of recycled materials:

• Recycled chipboard in accordion doors and certain flat wall products.
• All painted aluminum extrusions are manufactured from recycled aluminum.
• All of the steel used in Moderco product is sourced from suppliers who use only recycled materials.
• All materials sourced locally as much as possible in order to reduce travel and CO emissions.

Excess or waste materials within the Moderco manufacturing plant are recycled:

• All paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, covering materials, wood etc. waste is recycled.
• All aluminum waste is recycled.
• All steel waste is recycled.
• All gypsum board waste is recycled.
• All oils used in manufacturing are recaptured and recycled.

Additional Measures taken within Moderco:

• Recycle bins are in all office departments for the collection of miscellaneous paper, metal, plastic, glass etc. waste. It is collected once a week by the city.
• All aluminum cans (soda) are collected and sent back to the supplier for recycling.
• Moderco organizes and encourages car-pooling to reduce CO emissions.
• All Moderco thermostats are energy saving and automatically set to lower temperatures (reduce the use of energy) when areas are not in use.
• Lights in areas where there is intermittent use are motion sensitive and automatically turn off lights when a room is not in use.
• The location of our manufacturing plant was chosen carefully with the environment and access to public transportation in mind.
• We discourage the needless printing of e-mails and other materials that can be readily saved and viewed on computers.
• If materials must be printed then both sides of all paper is used wherever possible.
• Received faxed information is internally e-mailed to recipients rather than printed.
• All marketing literature is printed on recycled paper.
• Future marketing plans are for increases in on-line transfer of information rather than printed information.
• Annual building heat/air conditioning building checks are conducted to determine energy leaks and correct same.
• Replacement of all lighting with energy efficient systems.
• The use of only water based adhesives.

Suppliers are chosen carefully. They must be ECO (Environmentally Conscious Oriented).

• All new products or revisions to existing are designed with eventual 100% recycling or reuse as a major criterion.
• Products that can be made using recycled materials take priority.
• Loose panel face design reduces the need for adhesives, improves any necessary disassembly time and minimizes field repair and tear downs.
